The flat was designed by West Chin Architect for New York couples with three children under 10 years old. The couple worked in the media industry so that they have very high expectations for design. In the great results they have 3400 square meters of space for a contemporary lifestyle that is safe for their children. Almost every room was light and airy thanks to the neutral color palette and materials used. Three bedroom flat has the flexibility to be transformed to suit the tastes of children. Furniture and contemporary flat surface made of material that is easy to clean and looks very modern. The concept of central void with a glass floor has an education aspect for the family. By using a glass floor, spatial transparency created by all the space can be connected and the children raised with an emphasis on living together. Owner decided to rebuild their homes after the addition of a new family member’s appropriate building regulations, 17 m groundfloor, first floor 13 m and 9 m saddle-roof. Responding to problems in the groundfloor lights, a central void has been created, cutting three floors, so that light can enter the house through a large skylight. In order not to lose the space, this void is filled with glass floors. Light-axis is set up and connect the entire life-different functions. (more…)

Southern Ocean Lodge has a simple interior design, but elegant and luxurious. Interior is open and did not have a lot of insulation to provide fresh air and wide room for the visitors. Most of the walls are made of transparent glass which enable to see the beautiful coastal scenery while resting in the house. JM Architecture have renovated a house located in the Dolomite Mountains on the border between Italy and Austria. The house is built to provide solutions for clients who want to live in a comfortable situation and calm. Architect has destroyed the entire ground floor because of too much insulation and less consumption of light. Few new volumes have been added around the house to extend the entry hall and the oversized family room, which include dining, relax and study areas. Because of the very low temperatures of the winter, the heating solution is the combination of radiant floor heating, perimeter floor radiators along the curtain wall, a gas see-through-the-outside fireplace and a wood one. Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group operates in 25 countries. This Hotel Group recently opened their first hotel in southern Europe. The cool hotel is combination of three elements: The convenience of the location of the central Passeig de Gracia, the good bones of the refurbished 20th-century former bank building, and most significant, the tour de force of design by Spanish-born Milano-based architect, Patricia Urquiola, responsible for the interior decor of the 98-room hotel, including most of the furnishings.
